How to move USDT from Bybit to a UAE bank account
Bybit holds your USDT; it does not put dirhams in your bank, and its AED rail is restricted to eligible users outside Dubai. For size the route runs through a VARA-licensed desk: whitelist its address in Bybit, withdraw on-chain, sell at a written quote, and receive AED by UAEFTS the same business day.

Can Bybit send USDT straight to a UAE bank account?
No. A bank account holds dirhams or dollars, and Bybit has no way to put USDT into one. Bybit's own AED local bank-transfer rail, launched in 2026 under its SCA licence, is limited to eligible verified users paying into a same-name UAE bank account and is not offered to Dubai residents, as of September 2026. A conversion leg therefore sits between Bybit and any UAE bank, and for a large ticket the clean one is a licensed OTC desk.
Think of Bybit as custody and the desk as the cash register. The USDT leaves Bybit on-chain to the desk's whitelisted address, the desk buys it at the price you accepted in writing, and its bank pays dirhams to an account in your name. Documents, pricing bands and red flags for the sale itself are in our guide to selling USDT in Dubai.
Bybit holds a Virtual Asset Platform Operator licence from the UAE Securities and Commodities Authority (granted October 2025) and an in-principle approval, not a full licence, from Dubai's VARA, and neither filing changes the practical point: for a large ticket, the AED rail's eligibility rules mean it is not a button to plan around. The desk you choose should resolve in VARA's public register under its own licence number; ours is VL/24/03/017. If your coins sit on Binance rather than Bybit, the fees and the address-hold rules differ — see moving USDT from Binance to a UAE bank.
How do Bybit's address book and withdrawal whitelist work?
Bybit's address book is a saved list of withdrawal addresses, and whitelist mode is a switch that blocks withdrawals to anything not on that list. With the mode on, adding a new address triggers a security lock — currently 24 hours — before the address can receive funds, as of September 2026.
This single setting decides whether same-day settlement is possible. A desk trade settles the same business day only if the USDT can leave Bybit the moment you accept the quote, and a fresh address added that morning cannot move funds until the next day.
- Turn whitelist mode on and leave it on — it is the setting that stops a hijacked session from draining the account to a stranger's address.
- Add the desk's deposit address to the address book on the day you open the account, not on the day you trade.
- Label each address with the desk name and network — a TRC20 address and an ERC20 address are different entries.
- Expect a further 24-hour withdrawal restriction after changing your password or 2FA settings.
The 24-hour lock is a control, not friction. Plan around it and it costs nothing; discover it on trade day and it costs you the day.
Which network should you use to withdraw USDT from Bybit?
Withdraw on TRC20 unless the desk tells you otherwise. Bybit charges a fixed per-chain fee that appears on the withdrawal screen before you confirm, and a TRC20 transfer is usually confirmed within a few minutes, as of September 2026. ERC20 and Arbitrum are available on Bybit, but a chain the desk does not credit is a chain you cannot use.
| Chain | Bybit fee | Time to confirm | When to pick it |
|---|---|---|---|
| TRON (TRC20) | Fixed; shown on screen | A few minutes | The usual choice for a UAE desk |
| Ethereum (ERC20) | Fixed; shown on screen | Roughly 5–15 minutes | When the desk asks for ERC20 |
| Arbitrum One | Fixed; shown on screen | A few minutes | Only with the desk's written confirmation |
A single-digit USDT fee on a six-figure ticket rounds to nothing; the chain the desk credits is the only thing that matters.
Two habits matter more than the chain. Withdraw only once the desk's written quote is accepted, and only to the address already sitting in your Bybit address book — an address pasted into a chat, however official the chat looks, is not one you send to.
How does the Bybit-to-desk-to-bank sequence work?
Four steps separate USDT on Bybit from dirhams in your bank: desk approval, address whitelisting, a written quote, and the withdrawal that triggers the wire. Do the first two in advance and the remaining two fit inside one UAE business day.
-
STEP 1
Open the desk account in advance
Onboarding needs a passport and a proof of address no older than 90 days for an individual, plus the trade licence and ownership documents for a company; most accounts are approved within one business day. The document list is in our onboarding section — and the desk's deposit address arrives with the approval, which is your cue for step 2.
-
STEP 2
Whitelist the desk's deposit address
Take the deposit address from the desk's written channel, add it to Bybit's address book with the network in the label, and let the 24-hour lock run its course. Do this when the account is approved, and trade day has no waiting built in.
-
STEP 3
Accept the written quote and withdraw
Tell the dealer the size; the desk answers with a single all-in price, valid for a stated window, that does not move between quote and fill. Accept it in writing, then trigger the Bybit withdrawal to the whitelisted address on the agreed chain — during dealing hours, Sunday to Thursday, 09:00–18:00 GST.
-
STEP 4
Receive AED or USD in your own account
Once the USDT confirms on-chain, the desk's bank releases AED over UAEFTS with same-day value, or USD over SWIFT within 2 to 5 business days. The beneficiary is always an account in your own name — the detail that makes the credit read cleanly to your bank's monitoring.
How long does each leg of the route take?
With the desk account approved and the Bybit address whitelisted in advance, USDT withdrawn from Bybit in the morning can be AED in your bank account the same business day, as of September 2026. The route has four legs, and the whitelist lock is the one that decides whether today counts:
- Whitelist lock on a new Bybit address: 24 hours — run it before trade day.
- Bybit withdrawal processing: typically up to 15 minutes, longer in network congestion; a withdrawal can sit in review before release.
- On-chain confirmation on TRC20: a few minutes.
- Desk conversion and the UAEFTS instruction: minutes during dealing hours, released the same business day if the bank's afternoon cut-off has not passed.
The calendar day is set by the cut-off, not by the trade. Accept a quote late in the afternoon, or outside dealing hours, and the dirhams carry the next business day's value date — so ask the dealer for that day's cut-off before you accept.
What does the full route cost, end to end?
Two numbers make up the cost of the Bybit-to-desk-to-bank route: Bybit's fixed per-chain withdrawal fee, and the desk's spread — across licensed Dubai desks, 0.08% to 0.50% by ticket size, as of September 2026. Meridian adds no separate charge for the standard AED wire.
Worked example: on 300,000 USDT a 0.15% spread is 450 USDT — about AED 1,653 at the 3.6725 peg that anchors the USDT to AED rate. The single-digit network fee lifts that to roughly AED 1,656, so the route costs 0.15% end to end, and every component is known before you accept.
For a Dubai resident Bybit has no native AED route to set against this, so the honest comparison is P2P or a smaller venue's fiat channel — each with its own review queue and fraud exposure. Our published pricing bands turn the spread into dirhams at your ticket size.
The bottom line on moving USDT from Bybit to a UAE bank
Bybit to a UAE bank account comes down to preparation: desk account approved and address whitelisted the day before, a written quote on the day, a TRC20 withdrawal, and dirhams with same-day value. The 24-hour lock is the only part of the route that cannot be hurried, so do it first.
FAQ
Does Bybit support AED withdrawals to a UAE bank account?
Only in limited cases: Bybit's AED local bank-transfer rail, launched in 2026 under its SCA licence, is restricted to eligible verified users with a same-name UAE bank account and is not offered to Dubai residents, as of September 2026. The working route is an on-chain USDT withdrawal to a VARA-licensed desk, which wires AED to your own account by UAEFTS.
How long is the lock on a new Bybit withdrawal address?
With whitelist mode on, a newly added withdrawal address is locked for 24 hours before it can receive funds, as of September 2026. Changing your password or 2FA can trigger a further withdrawal hold, so set the address up before the day you trade.
Which network is cheapest for withdrawing USDT from Bybit?
TRC20, in most cases: Bybit charges a fixed per-chain fee, displayed on the withdrawal screen, and the transfer confirms within minutes, as of September 2026. The fee is negligible on a large ticket — what matters is picking a chain the receiving desk credits.
Is there a minimum amount for the Bybit-to-desk route?
Licensed Dubai desks typically quote from around 100,000 USDT upward. For smaller sums a P2P sale or a smaller licensed venue is more proportionate, at the price of losing the own-name bank wire as your paper trail.
