MeridianOTC

Firm quotes on size.
USDT to AED or USD, settled by bank wire.

You send the size you want to move. We return one all-in price, good for a defined window. No partial fills, no drift between the quote and the fill.

The dirham is pegged. Your spread is visible.

AED has been fixed to the US dollar at 3.6725 since 1997. So USDT/AED is not an FX trade — it is USDT/USD multiplied by a constant. Everything in the rate that is not the peg is somebody’s spread, and you can calculate it from a single number.

Channel Typical spread Cost on 1,000,000
Bank-settled OTC desk 10 – 50 bps USD 1,000 – 5,000
Cash exchangers, Dubai 288 – 751 bps USD 28,800 – 75,100

Cash-exchanger figures are a snapshot of publicly listed rates and move constantly. We show them because the arithmetic, not the adjective, is the argument.

How we price your quote

Our regulator requires us to publish this. We would rather it were a selling point than a footnote.

1

Reference price

We take a mid price from the venues where we actually hedge, not from a single screen. For AED we apply the central bank peg of 3.6725 to the USD leg.

2

Size and hedge cost

The spread widens with what it costs us to hedge your size in the prevailing book, and narrows as size grows relative to that cost. This is why large tickets price better, not as a courtesy.

3

One all-in number

The quote you accept is the amount that reaches your account. No separate commission, no deduction at settlement, no rate revision after acceptance.

Where our liquidity comes from

We are required to name any venue or counterparty that receives twenty percent or more of client order flow. The current list is published on our disclosures page and updated when it changes.

Settlement rails, with their real limits

Speed depends entirely on the rail, and the fastest rail has the lowest ceiling. Any desk that says only "instant" is not telling you which one they mean.

Rail Speed Ceiling Used for
UAEFTS bank wire (AED) Same business day No practical ceiling The rail for large AED
SWIFT wire (USD) 2 to 5 business days No practical ceiling Cross-border USD
Aani instant payments Seconds, 24/7 AED 50,000 per transfer Small residual balances only
Push to card (USD) Minutes Network and issuer limits apply Small tickets only — see note

We offer card payout, but not for size. Card networks charge one to five percent and impose per-transaction and daily caps, so pushing a seven-figure settlement to a card costs you far more than a wire and raises questions we would then have to ask you. For anything at our minimum ticket or above, bank wire is the correct instrument.

Onboarding: what we need and how long it takes

Large clients do not object to verification. They object to an open-ended process with no stated end. Here is the list and the timeline.

Individuals

  • Passport, and Emirates ID if resident
  • Proof of address issued within 90 days
  • Source of funds, with supporting documents

Companies

  • Trade licence and Articles of Association
  • Ultimate beneficial owner register
  • Board or shareholder authority to trade

Approved within one business day in most cases

We verify identity and beneficial ownership before we execute, and we obtain originator and beneficiary information on transfers above AED 3,500. Both are legal requirements on us, not internal policy, and a desk that offers to skip them is telling you something about itself.

Who moves first, and where your money sits

Whitelisted account only

Fiat settles to an account in your own name that you registered during onboarding. We do not pay third parties, and we will decline a request to.

Segregated client account

Client money is held in a designated Client Account at a third-party bank outside our group. It is not ours, and it does not form part of our estate if we fail.

What that protection is not

Segregation is not deposit insurance. Neither client money nor virtual assets held with us benefit from any form of deposit protection scheme. We would rather you knew that from us.

The people you will be dealing with

Your account is assigned to one dealer. They hold the quote, they run the settlement, and they answer in writing on the channel you choose.

Dealers are named on your trade confirmation. Responsible Individuals are listed in the regulator’s register under the licence below.
